Hon. Adrienne Konigar-Macklin has devoted her legal career to protecting and securing the civil rights of children in the educational system and holds a Law degree from UC Hastings College of Law. Ms. Konigar- Macklin has been an Education Law Attorney for over 32 years as in-house and special counsel to and in several school districts, she is currently General Counsel for San Diego County Office of Education. She has advised executive and public boards extensively on ethics, political conflicts of interest and Brown Act compliance. She is currently the Western Area Chair of Ethics and Standards for The Links, Incorporated, and lectures and provides training on organizational effectiveness and ethical leadership.
She has also served as President of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, President of the California Association of Black Lawyers, President of the Pomona Unified School Board and has taught and published articles on school law. She was appointed by Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas to serve on the Los Angeles County Commission on Families and Children, and most recently, was appointed to serve on the California legislatively chartered Mervyn Dymally Foundation on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills.
She has always demonstrated passion for public service and has provided pro-bon legal services to battered and abused women living in shelters, foster children and indigent families, students on educational rights issues and to a wide variety of charitable and educational organizations.
