CFRE Workshop

Stacy Swanson, CFRE

Why should you become a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)? In this workshop, we will explore the why’s and the how’s of becoming a CFRE… from your first consideration through the exam process and everything in-between. We will answer questions about the application process, preparing for the exam… and most importantly, why earning a CFRE designation is beneficial to you, your organization and your professional career growth. We hope to de-mystify the certification process and motivate you to take the first (or next) step!

Stacy Swanson, CFRE, Director of Development at California Lutheran University, spent the majority of the last 25+ years of professional life in the non-profit and not-for-profit sector including 15 years with Thrivent Financial and six years with Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County.

In 2013, Stacy joined the Advancement Division at her alma mater, California Lutheran University, where she serves as the Senior Director of Development for the Graduate Schools & Seminary.

Stacy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts/English from California Lutheran University, a Master of Arts degree in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts degree in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University. She has been married to her husband, Krister, for 26 years and together have three teenage/young adult sons. In her free time, she loves to read, cook, run and practice yoga.
