TOPIC: Careers in Fundraising: How is YOURS coming along?

Time: 11:30 am to 1 pm (first 30 minutes for networking)

Location: Zoom (a link will be sent to all registrants a day before)

Cost: Free for AFP members, $10 for non-members.

One of the great things about the AFP International Conference is that the agenda allows you to choose sessions based on your experience level, interests and the type of nonprofit you are in. We are going to replicate that experience, Reno style! Using the magic of break-out rooms in Zoom, we will have three mini-sessions from which you can choose the break-out group that best aligns with where you want to go with your fundraising career – and for you veterans, how you can best share your experiences.

  • What are the challenges and opportunities in your sector? Health and Human Services, Arts and Education, or the Environment and Animals
  • What skills, educational opportunities, or mentoring do you need to feel fulfilled in your career? Whether you are a beginner, mid-range, or have a decade or more of experience, there is always room to grow.
  • What type of fundraising strategies would you like to learn more about? We have Corporate, Foundation, or Individual/Major Gifts from which to choose.
Nine total options will be shared (three for each mini-session) and facilitators will be in each group with questions to help guide the conversations. Each facilitator will compile notes that will be sent out to all members after the meeting, and whatever trends emerge will help us plan our 2021 programs. And, as we move to culminate our year with Philanthropy Training Day in November, Gail Perry’s sessions will focus on what matters most to our members. See you there!

Registration:  Registration is due by 5 pm, Monday, January 18th.

For non-members, if you need to cancel, please do so by 10 am on Tuesday, January 19th, to receive a refund.  No refunds will be issued after that date and time.  Please email our Chapter Administrator, Sherry Griffin Grundy, to cancel.
