How To Make Successful Cold Calls During a Pandemic

Program:  Join Kristin Burgarello, Executive Director of Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, and Kristen Kennedy, Executive Director of OLLI, as they guide us through best practices for making cold calls and connecting with potential donors in the era of Zoom.

Speakers: 
Kristen Kennedy, Executive Director, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)
Kristen has worked in fundraising for 15 years as a grant writer, development director, and executive director for various non-profits including Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, and the University of Nevada, Reno. Formerly, she was the Vice President of North American Operations for Principal where she helped accountants build a better business and life. In her current role, Kristen oversees programming, operations, and fundraising for OLLI, one of the University of Nevada, Reno’s largest community outreach programs. She holds degrees in International Affairs and Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno and an MBA from the University of Montana.

Kristin Burgarello, Executive Director of Development University of Nevada Reno
Kristin has been Executive Director of Development at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2015. She leads a team of development directors and oversees Prospect Management & Research. Prior to this, she worked closely with Nevada’s Reynolds School of Journalism’s Dean to help alumni and friends fulfill their philanthropic goals. During this time, Kristin was a key member of the team that raised significant funds from the Reynolds Foundation to renovate the School. Kristin previously worked as an account coordinator at a Reno-based advertising agency, then moved “in-house” to work in gaming and healthcare strategic communications. Her love for the University of Nevada, Reno then brought her back to campus to start her higher education career in Alumni Relations. She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno.
