The Presenters

Karen Mercier, CFRE began her fundraising career in 2002 and is an experienced development specialist with skills in the areas of major gifts, annual giving, events and capital campaigns gained while working for a variety of organizations in the Edmonton and Regina area.

Prior to joining Habitat for Humanity Regina in 2018 as their Chief Development Officer, Karen led the development programs at the Regina Humane Society and the RCMP Heritage Centre. She has also served as a Campaign Consultant for KCI, worked in major gifting with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and held progressively senior positions with the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation. She volunteers extensively in the community currently serving as a Director of United Way Regina, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Foundation for Philanthropy Canada and AFP South Saskatchewan . She is also a member of the AFP Peeps Social Media team and Past Chair of both AFP Canadian Council and the AFP South Saskatchewan Chapter.

Nora Yeates, CFRE is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan (CFS). Nora has spent the last 15 years advancing her skills and knowledge through her work at the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospitals of Regina Foundation and most recently, the University of Regina. Nora earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, her certification as a fundraising executive from CFRE International and recently completed the Community Shift Leadership Program at the Ivey School of Business in 2017.

Nora believes in community involvement. She is an advocate for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has volunteered at both the local and national level for more than ten years.nora_200x200.jpg
