Millennial Philanthropy: What Do We Need To Know?

Total charitable donations rose to a new high of $410 Billion in 2018. This uptick in funding begs the question, what role does and can the millennial generation play to support the rise in philanthropic dollars? What role do nonprofits play in engaging millennials, and what should they expect in return from this generation? Holly Hull Miori, MTS, MPA, CFRE will share her cutting-edge PhD research and in-depth case study and bring practical advice as a thirteen-year fundraiser and academic researcher to your nonprofits.  

Holly Hull Miori has a thirteen-year career in fundraising, where she has raised funds both locally and nationally in higher education, healthcare, and the arts. She currently serves as the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at The University of Texas at Dallas for the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies and the School of Arts and Humanities. Holly earned a bachelor’s degree in both religion and communication arts from Austin College in Sherman, TX and received her master’s in theological studies from Brite Divinity School at TCU. She also holds a Master’s in Public Affairs from UT Dallas and is working on her PhD at UT Dallas where she focuses her research on trends in philanthropy including millennial philanthropy, faith-based fundraising and conscious capitalism. She has held her CFRE since 2012. Holly serves as a board member for Paper for Water, and is actively involved in AWARE Dallas, Colleyville Woman’s Club, and the AFP Dallas-Fort Worth Conference.
