Working in nonprofits requires collaborative relationships within and between departments. Today, the intersection between marketing and fundraising is even more crucial as we continue to carry out our missions in a distributed and hybrid workplace. When marketing and fundraising work in sync, your fundraising efforts can be more successful. This session will share insight on the cross-function of fundraising and marketing, how to motivate donors to give through engagement and storytelling, and the importance of creating messages that inspire action!

About the presenter:
Michelle Flores Vryn, CFRE serves as the Chief Development Officer on the OneStar team. She is an active member of the social impact community and is driven to create thoughtful, yet attainable, strategies to increase nonprofit success. Before joining OneStar, Michelle worked in international fundraising for global conservation. Michelle is passionate about mentoring Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) nonprofit professionals and creating better nonprofit work cultures. She also serves on the board of Mission Capital and is active on committees with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Global, including the new Fundraiser Bill of Rights Task Force. Michelle is a first generation college student and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Cultural Anthropology from the HSI, the University of Texas - San Antonio.
