Presenter: Robert J. McLaughlin, Partner, Hodgson Russ LLP
In late 2017, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the “Charitable Gaming Act”, a new state law that allows charities to sell and advertise their raffles online and on mobile apps. The Act went into effect during the summer of 2018 and also allows nonprofit organizations to accept cash, checks and debit and credit cards as payment for raffle sales. However, there are limitations on sales and “fine print” to be aware of: the location of a fundraising event, the gaming rules of local municipalities and the home zip codes of the ticket purchasers may affect your overall game plan.Robert McLaughlin of Hodgson Russ will present and discuss the details of the Hodgson Russ Client Alert on the Charitable Gaming Act.ANNUAL CHAPTER MEETINGThe December luncheon program will also feature our Annual Chapter meeting. Plans include updates from the Chapter Executive Board and an opportunity for Chapter Members to cast their vote for the 2019 Chapter Board of Directors slate.REGISTER ONLINE:Multiple guests?
