If you're an executive director or development staffer in a small shop, there are a myriad of competencies you need to master for survival. This session, led by small shop veterans, will ensure you are introduced to the following essentials:

  • Non-profit financial management, including budgeting, reporting and staff versus Board roles and responsibilities;
  • Navigating the technical compliance components of human resources including job descriptions, hiring, employee performance and separation;
  • Explore elements of a vibrant workplace culture incorporating remote team members, building motivation, setting expectations and maintaining mental health; and
  • Successfully navigating and managing the Board of Directors.

This session will focus on practical knowledge and best practices, as well as provide a variety of samples, tools and resources that participants can put into action.
