FTA will be offered virtually—through four 3 ½ hour interactive online sessions. FTA is AFP's train-the trainer program that helps ensure quality in our educational programming by providing formal training for prospective instructors of AFP's professional development programs. Participants receive comprehensive, hands-on training in adult education principles, learning styles, classroom management, presentation skills, and developing engaging, learner-centered lessons. During the class, participants develop a ten-minute mini-training program that’s videotaped and conducted for fellow trainees during the final session. After the class ends, the instructor reviews all videos and provides written feedback for how participants can improve their training design and delivery.
Course eligibility requirements & expectations – Participants must:
- Possess extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and thorough knowledge of the fundraising profession.
- Regularly participate in continuing education in fundraising, with a minimum of 45 contact hours within the previous three years.

Course graduates are asked to serve as faculty for a minimum of three AFP courses, requested by AFP Global or AFP chapters, for the two-year period after graduation.
