Come enjoy an entertaining, interactive session with your professional peers and leave with tools and tips that you can apply the same day, no matter how big or small your shop may be.
A graduate of Florida public schools and the University of Pennsylvania, Deborah L. Pedraza has spent the last 22 years in educational fundraising and development, actively participating on teams that have raised more than $98 million for educational institutions in Massachusetts, Maryland, and Florida.
Before discovering development, her work as a paralegal for a respected Indianapolis plaintiffs’ firm provided an excellent grounding in managing complex issues in minimal time and serving clients’ needs with efficiency and compassion. She was named Paralegal of the Year for the state of Indiana in 1996 for her work in drafting a code of ethics for the Indiana Paralegal Association.
Mrs. Pedraza joined Orange County Public Schools in February 2013 as the district’s first Director of Philanthropic Development. She worked closely with the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools on securing resources needed to implement the district-wide initiatives described in the OCPS Philanthropic Strategic Plan. As of July 1, 2016, she was named Senior Director of the Foundation.
A former United Way of Caroline County (MD) board member and long-time member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Mrs. Pedraza served for three years as VP-Education on the board of directors for the Central Florida chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and is a trained and passionate leadership facilitator.
