This session delves into the AFP Code of Ethical Standards.

  • As professional fundraisers it is our responsibility to protect, respect, and understand our organization and our donors. This presentation provides an overview of ethics as it relates to fundraising.
  • Public trust, transparency, conflicts of interest, solicitations, stewardship, confidential information, and compensation are discussed.

Diana Marquis, CFRE


Diana Marquis has been a fundraiser in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for twenty years. She has worked for academic, social service, environmental education, and consulting/training agencies. Diana has served various nonprofits as Executive Director, Chief Development Officer, and Manager of Major Gifts. In addition to two decades of professional fundraising, Diana also had a career in radio and television production, and small business development.
 
She served the AFP Dallas Chapter as President and held other board positions as well as chairing the chapter's National Philanthropy Day Luncheon. She was appointed to the City of Dallas Cultural Affairs Commission and served four terms. She is a Leadership Dallas alumnus, a Charter Member of the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas and a founding member of the DFW Hispanic Communicators.
