Awards & Nominations

Nominations are due Friday, August 2!

AFP has streamlined its nomination process to allow greater equity and recognition of philanthropists at all levels. Instead of the six categories recognized in previous years, nominating organizations can now submit up to three nominations, one for each category below. Every nominee will receive recognition for their volunteerism and/or philanthropic support of nonprofits and charitable causes within Polk County.

*New to this year, nomination forms will be reviewed by a fellow AFP Chapter Board who has graciously volunteered their time in helping us award an honorable mention for each category. 

Individual of the Year

Presented to an individual (or couple) who exemplifies philanthropy by donating their time, talent and/or treasure to your organization.  Individuals can be of any age, including youth.  This person can be a volunteer and/or donor to your organization who demonstrates a commitment to philanthropy to benefit the larger community of Polk County.

 Corporation of the Year

Presented to a business of any size that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment through financial support and/or volunteerism that encourages and motivates others to participate in philanthropy in the community.

Youth in Philanthropy

Presented to an individual who is 18 years old or younger who exemplifies philanthropy by donating their time, talent and/or treasure to your organization.  This young person can be a volunteer and/or donor to your organization who demonstrates a commitment to philanthropy to benefit the larger community of Polk County.

Nominations are due Friday, August 2. 

Before nominating, please ensure that: 

  1. You have invited your nominee(s) to the Nov. 14 breakfast event.
  2. You have at least five (5) high-quality photos of your nominee(s) supporting your organization.
