Monica Brile joined AFP staff on March 10, 2025 as the part-time IDEA Administrative Coordinator. She has experience with leading diversity and inclusion efforts in member associations and the education space. Most recently Monica served as the founding manager of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital’s first DEIA department. Prior to moving into the nonprofit realm, Monica was the Art Department Chair and Choral Director at Pingree School in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.
Monica’s career as a choral director was cut short due to a debilitating repetitive stress injury that led to permanent disability. Given her lived experience as a person with a disability, Monica feels strongly motivated to promote inclusion, accessibility, equity and a general awareness that all individuals have unique identities and situations, which are perhaps not readily discernible. It has become her mission to advocate for others and work to ensure everyone feels seen, heard, valued and supported.
