Special Workshop

National Philanthropy Day is observed annually on November 15. Observe by using #NationalPhilanthropyDay to post on social media.

Philanthropists are honored for their many significant contributions, help and good deeds and for the differences that they have made in our lives and our communities. The word philanthropy comes from Latin and Greek philanthropia which gives us kindliness, humanity and love to mankind. From this, we take the philo (tending to, fond of) and join antropos meaning mankind or human beings. There are instances of philanthropy that can overlap with instances of charity. The difference is that charity relieves the pains of social problems, whereas philanthropy attempts to solve those problems at their root causes.

Due to our hectic schedules during the giving season, the AFP Siouxland Chapter has moved our special workshop to March.
When: Tuesday, March 19, 2019, 11:30am-1:30pm
Where: Delta Hotels by Marriot, South Sioux City Riverfront
What: Donor Colors - "Raising Your Awareness & Enhancing Communication"
Are you Red, yellow, Green or Blue? This interactive session includes PACE Palette/Personality Profile material that will help you learn how your "color" can help you with your donors.
Presented by: Jackie Payne, Augustana University's Development Director

This special workshop (and all of our regular luncheons) are open to Siouxland Chapter members and non-members. The special workshop cost for this March session is $25 for members, $40 for non-members. Fees include the cost of lunch, the PACE materials, and the knowledge being shared by Jackie.
