Building the House: Applying Project Management Principles to the Grant Proposal Process

Program will be presented in-person only in Room 105 of the Community Service Building. Validated parking in the Community Service Garage, 111 W. 11th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.  Please note: If the "FULL" sign is lit at the garage, please let the attendant know you are going to a meeting in the Community Service Building. Learn how to "build the house" correctly and apply the principles of project management to submit intentional, organized, cohesive multi-year, large-dollar, or Federal grant proposals.  After participating in this session, attendees should be able to: Apply project management principles to organize their approach to large-dollar or multi-year grant proposals, ensuring the most ethical use of staff time within the organization. Analyze a Notice of Funding Opportunity to ensure organizational preparation for the use of grant funds if awarded. Compose a grant proposal that meets and exceeds scoring criteria, ensuring the highest chances of success. Presenter : Danielle F. Dougherty, MPA, Assistant Director of Grants Management, Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library  About the Presenter Danielle Dougherty is the Assistant Director of Grants Management at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library where she manages all corporate and foundation fundraising in support of the institution. To date, she has raised nearly $3 million in grant funding for organizations ranging from museums to domestic violence centers.
