Creating a High-Performance Environment for Major Gifts Speakers Cassie Carter and Dan Nevez of Campbell & Company
In nonprofit fundraising, an effective major gifts program provides a robust return on investment, funding critical, mission-driven work. But how do you create a high-performance environment for major gifts?
Weaving together evidence-based strategies and compelling case studies, this session will lay out a path to major gifts success. Our presenters will reference data from Giving USA and Campbell & Company research to illuminate trends and discuss how development leaders can leverage them for greater impact. Topics will include mid-level donors as a bridge between the annual fund and major gifts, major gift team goals and retention, and the importance of a strong major gift culture organization-wide.
Attendees will leave the session with a better understanding of:
- How emerging trends in fundraising are impacting major gifts—and what to do about it
- How to build a major gifts team
- How to craft and execute on strategies that will increase major gifts ROI

2019 Chamberlain Scholar
|
|
 |
A report from International Conference In late August/early September, we will begin to accept applications from AFP-GLAC members for the 2020 Chamberlain Scholarship. To give you an idea of the benefit of attending the AFP International Conference as a Chamberlain Scholar, here is a note from this year’s winner, Tiffany Leung, Development Associate, Foundation and Corporate Relations, at Cedars-Sinai.
“I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend my first AFP ICON in San Antonio. It was a huge honor to represent as our chapter’s 2019 Chamberlain Scholar. I made some wonderful connections with fundraisers from all over the country and at all levels of their careers. I learned so many valuable tools during the conference sessions that I plan to implement at my current job and also throughout my fundraising and professional career. I’ve never been in a room with so many fundraisers and the enthusiasm about making an impact through our work was truly inspiring. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in attending their first AFP ICON for the first time to apply for next year’s chamberlain scholarship! Thank you AFP-GLAC!”
