Know Before You Go
To ensure a smooth day for you, here are a few housekeeping items to keep in mind. Please share this information with your registered guests.

Conference rooms tend to be chilly.  Please be sure to bring a light jacket or sweater.

Please use the main valet located at the front entrance of the JW Marriott.

Parking is included with the price of your ticket until 5:00 p.m. only. Anyone who stays beyond 5:00 p.m. will be responsible to pay the $23.00 daily rate plus tax.

From the lobby, take the escalators to the second floor and follow signs for the Conference Center.

There will be AFP Volunteers guiding you to the event space located on the Diamond Level.

The address for the valet is 900 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90015.

When you are ready to pick-up your car, take the escalators near the lobby entrance down to the valet pick-up counter.

Conference Attendees:

We have a great line up of speakers, and you can see the day's schedule on the session page. If you are attending with other colleagues you may want to split up so that you can hear a myriad of topics and ideas that you can share with each other and take back to your organizations. All sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be many attendees, so be sure to arrive early for each session.

Registration will open at 7:45 a.m.

Breakfast burritos will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. in the Exhibitor area. You may also bring your breakfast to the general session. Please be sure to stop by and visit Exhibitor booths throughout the day!  Our opening keynote will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m.

Kay Sprinkel Grace, Breakfast Keynote Speaker, will be selling her newest books:

  • The AAA Way to Fundraising Success: Transform Your Board Into a Fundraising Force
  • The Busy Volunteer’s Guide to Fundraising

You selected your meal choice when you signed up and paid for your ticket. The meal options are chicken, salmon, or a special meal (special meal satisfies vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free requests). Your meal selection ticket will be in the back of your badge.  Please place this on your plate when you sit down for lunch.

Women's Impact Summit

Women's Impact Summit -a celebration of the Women's Impact Initiative (WII)!

The AFP IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) Women's Impact Initiative has made a deep impact on the fundraising community by spreading awareness about all-important issues affecting women in the nonprofit sector.

The Women's Impact Summit brought those issues to the forefront for two powerful days in Phoenix, Arizona, following AFP LEAD 2019.

Fireside Conversation with Wayne Herron

We invite you to join us for a Fireside Conversation with Wayne Herron, Vice President of Philanthropy & Chief Philanthropy Officer at Palomar Health Foundation, as he shares his learnings of working with teams in Philanthropy for over two decades. One of the areas Wayne has focused on as a leader and is committed to is: “growing his employees to greatness.”

Our conversation will provide leaders and aspiring leaders insights and practical tips to help our employees see their professional potential and unique contribution to deliver outstanding results in their respective areas of the responsibility. Wayne believes strongly that the ultimate job of leaders is to work themselves out of their job by creating an environment that thrives after they leave.

At the December meeting, we will also welcome the incoming AFP-GLAC Board of Directors, as we say Thank You to the outgoing officers and board, and 2019 supporters. Enjoy networking with old and new AFP friends before the luncheon and program.

This program has been pre-approved by CFRE International for 1 CE.
