2021 Scholarship Process
The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy is pleased to once again offer the Diverse Communities Scholarship program for members of diverse communities to attend AFP ICON in Minneapolis, MN, June 28 - 30, 2021 
(or ICON Virtual).
The application process will be open from February 1 - February 26, 2021.  AFP is pleased to offer full conference registration fee plus some travel expenses for diverse communities scholarship recipients. THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the diversity scholarship campaign for your generosity and for helping to ensure the success of this program. Deadline for application submission is February 26, 2021. Selected candidates will be
notified by email by March 26, 2021.

Eligibility Categories
  • Fundraising professional who self identifies as coming from an eligible diverse community as defined by AFP (African-American/Black, Asian, People with Disabilities, Faith-based, LGBTQ, Hispanic, Jewish, Rural, or another underrepresented community.)
  • Fundraising professional or fundraising executive director employed at an organization where 50% or more staff members are from a diverse community.
  • Work for a nonprofit organization that serves a 50% or more eligible AFP diverse community client base.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CHAMBERLAIN SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT


CHAMBERLAIN SCHOLARSHIP
AFP Central Alabama welcomes those who have not attended an AFP or NSFRE International Conference to apply for the Chamberlain Scholarship. With support from the AFP Foundation, we can offer one Chamberlain Scholarship, which covers the recipient’s conference registration that can total a value over $1,000, minus a $10 processing fee, to the AFP ICON.

The Chamberlain Scholarship program honors Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE. Mr. Chamberlain had a long and distinguished career of service to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), beginning in the 1960s when the organization was formed as the National Society of Fund Raisers (NSFR), through the late 1970s when the name was changed to the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE), and until his death in 1999.
