The Nonprofit Planning Playbook: Connecting Strategy, Fundraising, and Marketing

Effective nonprofit growth doesn’t happen by accident—it’s built through intentional, connected planning. This session introduces a practical, sequential approach to nonprofit planning that aligns organizational strategy with fundraising and marketing efforts, ensuring clarity, focus, and momentum across teams.

Participants will explore how the Strategic Plan establishes the foundation by clarifying organizational priorities, articulating a compelling case for support, and defining measurable goals. From there, the session demonstrates how strategic direction informs fundraising priorities and is amplified through a cohesive Marketing and Communications Plan that aligns audiences, messaging, and brand positioning.

Designed as a hands-on workshop, this session emphasizes how to plan, not just what to plan. Participants will be guided through adaptable templates, checklists, and tools they can immediately apply within their organizations to strengthen alignment, decision-making, and execution. While fundraising planning will be introduced at a high level, deeper development planning will be addressed in a separate, future session.
