National Philanthropy Day

We’re excited to announce that our National Philanthropy Day celebration will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

National Philanthropy Day is a day set aside annually to recognize the impact of philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—on our world. NPD celebrates the extraordinary gifts of time and financial resources that individuals and organizations make in support of world-wide causes and missions.

NPD was originally conceived and organized by Douglas Freeman in the 1980s, and the first official events occurred in 1986 after President Reagan signed the official NPD proclamation. The day provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that benefits through generosity.

The GSFV Chapter chooses a day in November to honor local philanthropists, fundraising professionals, volunteers, organizations, and corporations at its annual NPD event.
