National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day is a special opportunity to recognize the significance of philanthropic contributions in our lives, communities and world.  This year, AFP Greater San Fernando Valley Chapter will host National Philanthropy Day on Thursday, November 4, 2021, to honor individuals, organizations, and businesses in the North Los Angeles area who generously give their time, talents, and resources for the enrichment and benefit of our communities. Please join us in celebrating the giving spirit and exemplary leaders of our philanthropic community.

Outstanding Philanthropist Award
Recognizes an individual, family, or group whose exceptional generosity through personal financial support to various charitable causes improves the quality of life in our community, demonstrates leadership in philanthropic giving, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles in the community.

Outstanding Fundraising Volunteers
Recognizes an individual, organization, or group that demonstrates exceptional leadership and commitment to the advancement of philanthropy and motivates and inspires other philanthropic volunteers in successful fundraising projects.

Outstanding Corporate or Corporate Foundation
Recognizes a corporation or a corporate foundation with a demonstrated record of outstanding commitment through charitable financial support and creating a corporate philanthropic culture that encourages and motivates employees/others to take leadership roles, impact philanthropy, and be involved in philanthropy in the community.

Outstanding Foundation

Recognizes a grant-making and non-corporate foundation that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through strategic financial support, encouragement, and motivation of others to take leadership roles, make an impact in philanthropy, and be involved in the community.

Outstanding Fundraising Professional
Recognizes a professional fundraiser whose work exemplifies leadership, competence, achievement, ethical standards, and commitment to philanthropy.

Please note: Nominees for this award must be members of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy
Recognizes service by an individual or group of young people, ages 22 and younger, who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the community through direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteerism, and leadership in the advancement of philanthropy.
