Nomination Details

 
Thank you for your interest in submitting a nomination for National Philanthropy Day Greater San Fernando Valley! Please review all of the instructions below before completing this form.
 
  1. In order to submit a nomination, you must first have authorization from the nominee or institution in order to nominate him/her/them for an award.
  2. You may encourage others to nominate the same person or organization.
  3. If your nominee is chosen, you must confirm that the person or representative from the organization can participate in our in-person event the evening of November 13, 2025.
  4. If your nominee is chosen, we expect you to serve as liaison to your nominee and the National Philanthropy Day Awards Committee.
  5. If your nominee is chosen, we ask that you invite guests to participate in the program and assist in securing sponsorships from your organization and your nominee's network.
  6. If your nominee is chosen, you agree to participate in our networking reception and National Philanthropy celebration.
  7. Please follow the word count guidelines in the nomination form.


Nomination Categories 

Outstanding Individual Philanthropist - This award honors an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a community, national, and/or international level.

Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation - This award honors a corporation or its corporate foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.

Outstanding Nonprofit Organization - This award honors a nonprofit organization that has shown excellence in serving the organization’s mission. The organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) whose program(s) serve the Greater San Fernando Valley region.

Outstanding Professional Fundraiser - This award honors a development professional who is committed to the values of philanthropy: trust, honesty, tolerance, altruism, and service. S/he possesses the skills and knowledge, as well as extraordinary creativity and energy, to enhance the financial sustainability of their organization, to develop meaningful relationships with donors, to serve as an example and mentor to those new to the profession, and to foster a culture of philanthropy in their organization and beyond.

Outstanding Volunteer - Recognizes a person who provides exceptional leadership in coordinating fundraising projects or activities for a charitable organization or cause, with a preference for community work that has direct impact on the Greater San Fernando Valley region. The recipient must demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and the ability to motivate volunteers. By giving generously of his/her time and talents, this person makes a measurable impact on community philanthropy.

Outstanding Foundation - This award honors a foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles in philanthropy and national, international and/or community involvement. 

Outstanding Youth Volunteer - The NPD Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award recognizes a young person or group of young people who have shown a commitment to their community and exceptional leadership in motivating volunteers for a charitable organization's fundraising or volunteer project. Nominees must be 21 years old or younger and have worked voluntarily.
