Susan Belger Angulo embodies excellence in fundraising as the Development Director for Happy Bottoms. Since assuming this leadership role, she led the efforts to make the Diaper Bowl a success, resulting in a 48% increase over the previous year’s signature event. Susan is an inclusive and supportive leader and welcomes everyone to the table to plan and execute fantastic fundraising events supporting the Kansas City not-for-profit community. Susan is described as “a fundraising professional of the highest caliber” who “lives and breathes the missions of the organizations she is involved with.” Susan’s community involvement over the years includes Junior League of Kansas City, Barstow School, Wonderscope, American Red Cross, Solace House, Women’s Employment Network, and Rose Brooks Center, among others. Her knowledge of the philanthropic landscape of Kansas City is deep, and her network is wide. Colleagues describe her networking skills as “legendary”, and she is skilled at utilizing that network strategically to encourage and promote volunteerism for the agencies with which she is involved. Susan is not only dedicated to her own success as a fundraiser, but also to other fundraising professionals in the area. She is extremely generous with sharing her time and her knowledge with both veteran and novice fundraisers, providing the advice and the introductions needed to help them and their agencies succeed.
