No one knows the value of a healthy smile more than Delta Dental. As a leading dental benefits provider for more than 60 years, Delta Dental has always made dental care affordable for as many people as possible through quality group dental plans. Delta Dental of Michigan and its affiliates make up one of the largest dental plan administrators in the nation. Together, the plans provide coverage to more than 78 million Americans and operate two of the nation’s largest networks of participating dentists.
As a company headquartered in Okemos and with an office in Farmington Hills, Delta Dental of Michigan is an engaged and generous supporter of communities across the State of Michigan. Delta Dental has generously provided funding for Samaritas programs and has provided critical support through various leadership roles, ambassadorship, and in-kind donations. Margaret Trimer, VP of Strategic Partnerships for Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, served in leadership roles for the annual Samaritas fundraising event and has promoted this partnership.
Delta Dental supported more than 900 children with backpacks stuffed with school supplies, has sponsored the Samaritas Refugee Youth Services program, and has provided countless in-kind donations to promote health and wellness among the population Samaritas serves. Delta Dental continues to be a leading sponsor of the Samaritas cornerstone fundraising events in Grand Rapids and Detroit, helping raise nearly $1 million through these events over the last three years.
Similarly, Advantage Health Centers has been a beneficiary of Delta Dental’s philanthropy and partnership in pursuit of their mission to improve the health and wellness of residents of southeastern Michigan. With the Delta Dental Foundation’s generous financial support, Advantage Health was able to open its first owned and operated dental center, which they were proud to name the Delta Dental Center. Advantage Health applauds and shares Delta Dental’s core values: excellence, community responsibility, innovation, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion.
Other recent examples of Delta Dental’s philanthropy include: investing $828,000 to support minority entrepreneurs, establishing a scholarship fund for dental students from systemically underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, supporting efforts to address the opioid epidemic, and investing $5 million in the development of the Detroit Riverfront.
