The Association of Fundraising Professionals of Northwest Ohio (AFP NWO) will celebrate its 38th Annual National Philanthropy Day® on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. In their longstanding partnership with AFP NWO, Greater Toledo Community Foundation will continue as the presenting sponsor for the event, bringing their support and collaboration.

Each year, AFP NWO honors those who, through their hard work and dedication, have advanced philanthropy, enhanced our community and have created positive change. Similarly, the Community Foundation has hosted the Nonprofit Excellence Awards to recognize the worthwhile efforts and projects local philanthropic causes have made within the Toledo region. In a spirit of shared purpose and collective impact, AFP NWO is honored to integrate the Excellence Awards into their chapter’s celebration of philanthropy. This transition unites efforts to recognize the power of giving, deepen community engagement, and elevate the legacy of philanthropy.

National Philanthropy Day® acknowledges the entire spectrum of services provided by the nonprofit community and recognizes the profound impact philanthropy has on the fabric of society. Each year, AFP honors those who, through their hard work and dedication, have advanced philanthropy, enhanced their communities, and changed the world.

Volunteer Recognition
Award

Wish you could do more to thank a volunteer for their tireless donation of time and talent?  Whether this effort is from a single person, a couple, or co-chairs of an event, you can thank them and make them feel special by nominating them for the Volunteer Recognition portion of the NPD program. Select a volunteer who has donated a significant amount of their time and/or has contributed financially to your organization.

Each volunteer will be introduced at the NPD luncheon, listed with the designating agency in the program, and receive a certificate of appreciation. We do ask that your organization register and cover the cost of lunch for your volunteer.

Only one volunteer per organization will be recognized (a couple or a pair of co-chairs of a campaign/event are considered to be one volunteer).
