The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central New York Chapter is pleased to offer scholarships for Fundraising Day, Membership, and AFP ICON (also known as the Chamberlain Scholarship), and other as needed. These scholarships are to encourage participation in further education opportunities and to help individuals serving not for profit organizations develop their knowledge and skills in fundraising.

Please note that scholarships are nontransferable and in accepting a scholarship, the recipient agrees that if they do not attend a program for which they received a scholarship, they will be responsible for reimbursing the Chapter. The Chapter reserves the right to adjust the amount, frequency, and focus of scholarships offered based on the chapter’s financial position and planned events. Other scholarships may be considered on an as needed basis.

The Fundraising Day scholarship provides full or partial financial support to eligible members to attend the Chapter’s largest education event of the year. Any chapter member in good standing is eligible and encouraged to apply. Scholarship announcements will be made in advance of the event. 

Membership Scholarship

The Membership Scholarship covers cost of membership in full or in part for fundraisers seeking membership in either the Professional or Young Professional category. Individuals meeting the international requirements for membership are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. 

Scholarship recipients are required to serve on a board committee for one year. Recipients are also strongly encouraged to attend monthly luncheons and participate in chapter-sponsored webinars.

The Chamberlain Scholarships covers registration costs associated with attending AFP Global’s annual international fundraising conference, “AFP ICON.” Any chapter member in good standing is eligible and encouraged to apply. Scholarship announcements are made in early fall for the conference held in the following spring. When Chapter financial status allows, the Chapter may agree to provide additional scholarship funds to assist with the cost of attending this event.
