Award Categories


Outstanding Philanthropist: Individual

  • Nominee is an individual.
  • Nominee should have a proven record of outstanding, long-term community service for one or more charitable organizations.
  • Nominee’s actions reflect personal commitments of time, talent, and treasure on behalf of others.
  • Nominee has demonstrated leadership in coordinating the  volunteer efforts of individuals or groups for fundraising, special events, programs or services for philanthropic purposes.
  • Nominee has inspired others to give, to get involved, or to assume leadership in order to make positive changes in society.
  • Nominee’s actions have had a demonstrable, positive impact upon the lives of others.
  • A 500 word statement about the nominee that addresses the above referenced nomination criteria. Be sure to include information about charitable gifts, involvement in the organization, and the impact of the nominee’s gifts and work on behalf of non-profits.

Outstanding Philanthropist: Organization

  • Nominee is an organization or business.
  • Nominee should have a proven record of outstanding, long-term community service.
  • Nominee makes charitable contributions for the betterment of our community, and they leverage employees/members to impact the community.
  • Nominee uses their brand to make positive changes in society.
  • Nominee’s actions have had a demonstrable, positive impact upon the lives of others.
  • A 500 word statement about the nominee that addresses the above referenced nomination criteria. Be sure to include information about charitable gifts the impact of the nominee’s gifts and work on behalf of non-profits.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser

  • Nominee should have a proven record of outstanding, long-term community service for one or more charitable organizations.
  • Nominee’s actions reflect personal commitments of time, talent, and treasure on behalf of others.
  • Nominee has demonstrated leadership in coordinating the volunteer efforts of individuals or groups for fundraising, special events, programs, or services for philanthropic purposes.
  • Nominee has inspired others to get involved and to assume leadership in order to make positive changes in the lives of others.
  • Nominee’s actions have had a demonstrable, positive impact upon the lives of others.
  • A 500 word statement about the nominee that addresses the above referenced nomination criteria. Be sure to include information about the nominee’s leadership role and responsibilities, ability to organize or manage campaigns or groups, total funds raised, time, effort, personal financial commitment, and the impact of the nominee’s gifts and work on behalf of non-profits.

Outstanding Professional Fundraiser

  • Nominee should have at least 5 years of professional fundraising experience and have raised at least a $1,000,000 (cumulative).
  • Nominee is a current member of AFP - Eastern Oklahoma Chapter and practices and promotes the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and  Standards of Professional Practice for fundraising professionals.
  • Nominee demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development (examples include CFRE/ACFRE, conference participation, publication, and/or professional education).
  • Nominee demonstrates commitment to fundraising and philanthropy through voluntary service and financial support of non-profit organizations.
  • A 500 word statement about the nominee that addresses  the above referenced nomination criteria. Be sure to include information about the nominee’s job title and description, years in the profession,  specific projects and campaigns, and funds raised on behalf of the organization(s).

Outstanding Philanthropist in Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity

  • Nominee has raised funds to increase diversity, inclusion, and equity in Eastern Oklahoma.
  • Describe the initiative, program, or project, including the date of implementation.
  • Provide a brief summary of how the nominee’s work improved diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • A 500 word statement about the nominee that addresses the above referenced nomination criteria. Be sure to include the information about charitable gifts, involvement in the organization, and the impact of the nominee’s gifts on the diversity, inclusion, and equity of the organization.

Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy ($1,000 Scholarship)

  • Youth nominee is under 21 years of age. No nominations by family members will be accepted.
  • Youth nominee’s actions reflect personal commitments of time, talent, and treasure on behalf of an Eastern Oklahoma non-profit organization. Please include number of service hours, kinds of projects, and dollars raised through their fundraising efforts.
  • Youth nominee has demonstrated leadership, recruited their peers in their fundraising efforts, and inspired others to get involved.
  • A 500 word statement about the nominee that addresses the above referenced nomination criteria and includes how the youth has positively impacted the Eastern Oklahoma community.
