Legacy Leader Award

Legacy Leader Award

Planning a legacy gift is a way to honour and celebrate the charitable work, the people, and the causes you have come to care about in your lifetime. The most common legacy gift is a gift in your Will, naming a charity or your favorite charities as one of your beneficiaries. As part of estate planning, a gift in your Will helps ensure that the charitable work you care about continues to be in place to have a lasting impact for generations to come.  A legacy gift can be made by anyone at any level.  Help make brighter futures happen by considering a legacy gift today!

Join us in celebrating an individual, couple or family who have included their favorite charity(s) in their estate plans. By making these future commitments, these donors are inspiring others to do the same, often making a bigger impact than they could during their lifetime. This award is for a living donor who has included a future gift in their estate plans or a donor whose estate gift has already been realized.

 Nominations should address the following:

  • Describe the legacy gift (i.e. Gift in the Will, gift of life insurance, charitable remainder trust, etc.), created by the nominee to your organization and other not-for-profit organizations and the impact of the gifts
  • Describe the nominee’s additional participation / volunteering to their community
  • Describe any special qualities (i.e. vision, commitment, leadership), exhibited by the nominee or how they leveraged charitable gift planning vehicles for maximum benefit to your organization and the community at large

Please submit nominations to Lindsay Royale at lindsay.royale@usask.ca by October 15, 2020 for consideration.
