March 2019 at The Purple IrisThe chapter holds 10 monthly membership meetings each year.  We meet at noon on the second Tuesday of each month.  Due to special events in July (VFRI) and November (NPD), we do not hold a membership meeting.  Monthly meetings include lunch and a speaker.  The lunch cost is $18 for members and $21 for non-members.  Members can pre-pay for the 10 monthly meetings and NPD.  Learn more about the pre-pay option.

Monthly Membership Meeting Locations

Starting in April 2019, the majority of our meetings will be held at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury,  300 Westminster Canterbury Dr, Winchester, VA.  Our March and September meetings are held at the Purple Iris, 1956 Winchester Ave, Martinsburg, WV.  Please check the location of our events carefully, as we serve a broad geographical area and are working to ensure that events are held in a variety of locations.

AFP VA Tri-State Discovery Group Meetings

An AFP VA Tri-State Chapter Discovery Group Meeting is an opportunity to share challenges, ask questions, and enjoy the camaraderie of your peers. These meetings take place every other month at member organizations around the tri-state region, giving all of our members an opportunity to participate.  There is no cost to particpate as an AFP member or as a member's guest.

Conferences and Symposiums

AFP VA Tri-State periodically offers special conferences and symposiums on specific topics of interest to our membership.  AFP members may attend these events at a reduced rate.

Ten Star Chapter

The AFP Tri-State chapter has been named a 2019 Ten Star Chapter.  Every year, AFP honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy. Just one-third of all AFP chapters are named Ten Star Chapters, so the AFP Tri-State Chapter is one of a select group of chapters to earn this honor.
