Chapter Announcements

  • October President's Message

I returned last night from a three-day AFP LEAD Conference in Indianapolis. It was great, and if I'm being honest, a little weird to attend an in-person meeting for the first time in nearly 20 months! But it was also invigorating to connect with 300 professional fundraisers and Chapter leaders from around the country - and several from other parts of the world. Common themes for the conference were building personal leadership skills and incorporating IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) into the fundraising profession, the philanthropic sector and throughout society. The presenters were amazing and networking with other fundraising professionals will help guide my journey as your Chapter President.

As a professional member of AFP - each of us has the ability to be a leader. If you are new to the fundraising profession or have been in our ranks for many years, you can step up as a leader and make a difference for your Chapter, the organization(s) you support and build professional skills that will help you along your development journey.

I hope you will consider volunteering to step up and join me as a leader for the AFP Western PA Chapter. We need you to help form the Chapter for 2022 and beyond. If you have questions or would like to chat, please reach out to me at

    Best regards,

    Jodie Tabano
    AFP WPA President
