Major gifts often begin with a first gift. Every donor, regardless of gift size, deserves appreciation, respect, and meaningful engagement. Building authentic relationships over time creates a stronger, more sustainable culture of philanthropy.

AFP's Code of Ethical Standards reminds us to treat every donor fairly, honor their intentions, and cultivate relationships rooted in trust.

July Challenge:

Reconnect with one donor you haven't spoken with recently. Ask about what inspires their giving and spend the conversation listening.
