  • Application Deadline Extended to November 15th for AFP Idea Scholarship Program

Deadline Extended to November 15th - The AFP TN, Chattanooga Chapter will award up to five IDEA Scholarships each year based upon competitive application. Our chapter is a designated “IDEA Champion” and follows the principles of IDEA: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access. We are committed to supporting organizations and individuals working on issues of equality, racism, and racial justice. Our members raise funds for thousands of different causes, but stamping out institutional racism must be a priority for all. Most importantly, regardless of our race, gender, socioeconomic circumstances, sexual preference, geography, or any other applied labels, we must All act, and we must all act Together. Through the creation of the IDEA Scholarships, we hope to create more opportunities for inclusion in the field of philanthropy, access to educational opportunities, and networking with the goal of increasing diverse leadership.

Applicants must be affiliated with a nonprofit organization as an employee or volunteer leader. Scholarships valued at $500 each will cover AFP Global Dues, Local AFP TN Chattanooga Chapter Dues, and meeting registration costs for the year. Scholarships may be renewable for a second year.

The Chapter's board leadership will make the scholarship decisions for the 2021 program year. The deadline for applications is November 15th. Decisions will be announced in December 2020.
