Maryellen Gleason is a results-oriented philanthropy consultant who has helped many nonprofits achieve record fundraising levels amidst periods of transition and ever-emerging challenges. Maryellen specializes in partnering with nonprofits that require extraordinary philanthropic outcomes in special situations such as aggressive funding deadlines, reputational challenges, structural deficits, post-merger integration, and meddling/disengaged boards.

Maryellen has led fundraising growth campaigns for annual, capital, bridge, debt retirement, emergency, and special campaigns that were game changers for the organizations she served. She established Maryellen Gleason & Associates, LLC in 2017, expanding her work to include a growing focus on various social, health, and human service organizations as they undertake special initiatives and new philanthropic ventures. Over the past decade, Maryellen has established a virtual team of philanthropy professionals in grant writing, digital campaigns, capital campaigns, direct mail, sponsorships, and major gift strategies.

She is a seasoned executive, having led several organizations in transition, affording her special insights into nonprofit management challenges and opportunities. She served for over a decade as the President of the Phoenix Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, raising over $100M for orchestras during several economic cycles.
