AFP Webinar — Unlocking Year-Round Generosity: The Journey from Events to Annual Gifts

When:  Apr 8, 2026 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)

1:00-2:00 PM Eastern | Presenter: Jack Alotto, CFRE, MA and Sheryl Gray, MPA, CFRE

Many supporters (social donors) attend galas, golf tournaments, fun-runs etc. and consider that their ticket price is their gift, and many donors do not attend special events instead making annual gifts (annual donors). So how does a nonprofit fundraiser encourage annual donors to attend special events and how can we encourage our social donors to make a cash gift outside of their ticket purchase?

What motivates social donors and annual donors? And how can understanding their motivations turn social donors into annual gift donors and vice versa?
