For many fundraisers, artificial intelligence can feel overwhelming. There is growing pressure to “use AI,” but far less clarity about what that actually means, where to begin, or how to ensure technology doesn’t come at the cost of authentic donor relationships.
This session is designed specifically for nonprofit and fundraising professionals who are curious about AI but cautious, and who want to understand how these tools can be used thoughtfully, ethically, and not in place of human connection.
Shruti Ramaswami, EVP of Strategy & Strategic Relationships at TechSoup, will offer an introduction to how AI is already showing up in the nonprofit sector. This session will highlight simple, practical ways organizations are using AI today to save time, reduce administrative burden, and support more meaningful donor engagement.
Participants will learn how AI can help fundraisers spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time building relationships, without sacrificing trust, empathy, or authenticity. The session will walk through how to get started with AI in small, low‑risk ways, how to involve staff thoughtfully, and how organizations can build confidence before considering more advanced use.
This session is about helping nonprofit teams use new tools to better support the work they already care deeply about.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of how AI can be used in a fundraising context.
- Provide an overview of tools and solutions available to organizations, and how to think about what to pay for.
- Identify practical ways AI can support fundraising work today.
