National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day® is a special day in November set by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and celebrated around the world. The purpose of this day is to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—to the enrichment of our world.

Join us for National Philanthropy Day, a celebration of both the fundraising profession and those who are engaged with their community on a variety of levels.

Each year, the Hudson-Mohawk AFP Chapter board and membership nominate recipients for the annual National Philanthropy Day Awards. The awards recognize individuals, groups, and organizations that make impactful contributions to their communities, and pave the way for future philanthropic endeavors. The Hudson-Mohawk AFP Chapter is dedicated to mentoring and nurturing the spirit of philanthropy in both professional fundraisers as well as budding ones.

The AFP Hudson-Mohawk Chapter will be celebrating these winners on Thursday, September 19th at the conclusion of our Capital Region Fundraising Day Conference. 

Award Categories:

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser
Awarded to a local volunteer fundraising individual or group that demonstrates the true spirit of philanthropy through their volunteer fundraising efforts.

Emerging Fundraising Leader Awarded to a local emerging professional fundraiser, with less than five years of experience in the profession, who has demonstrated outstanding fundraising success in their career.

Outstanding Fundraising Professional Awarded to a local professional fundraiser, with five or more years of experience in the profession, who has demonstrated outstanding fundraising success in their career and commitment to the fundraising profession/nonprofit sector.  

Outstanding Philanthropic Business Awarded to a local business demonstrating the true spirit of philanthropy through time, treasure, and talent relative to the size and scope of the business.

Impact Award Awarded to an individual, group, or organization that embodies the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) in the fundraising profession, the philanthropic sector, and throughout all of society.
