  • Association of Fundraising Professionals Celebrate National Philanthropy Day

(November 15, 2021 -  St. John’s) The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Newfoundland and Labrador

Chapter (AFP-NL) proudly celebrates National Philanthropy Day® today and recognized the great contributions of

Philanthropy in Newfoundland and Labrador during a small special event held at Manuals River Hibernia Interpretation

Center early this morning proudly sponsored by Bell.

National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is a special day set aside on the fifteenth of November. The purpose of this day is to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy around the world—and those people active in the philanthropic community—to the enrichment of our world.

"National Philanthropy Day provides the opportunity for us to celebrate those who give, whether it be in volunteer time or charitable donations, and our members who are responsible for generating philanthropic support for their organizations," said Kelly Reid, President, AFP NL Chapter. "Philanthropy is a powerful thing.  No one is required to give; it is voluntary and those who give to do so because they see the need.  On this day we recognize those whose outstanding contributions have made a considerable difference in our province.”
