Ethical standards and principles are the foundation of donor and public trust. AFP upholds these values through the only enforceable code of ethics in the fundraising profession and a self-governed process for addressing ethical concerns.
To promote stewardship, donor trust, and ethical and effective fundraising, all AFP members are required to comply with the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards, which provides clear guidance for fundraising professionals in philanthropic organizations. The code is supported by an enforcement process managed by the AFP Ethics Committee and is featured annually during AFP Ethics Awareness Month in October.
