During the capital campaign for the Dan McKinney Family YMCA, the organization was able to continue their growth in annual giving each year, saw an increase in membership, and achieved many successful blended gift solicitations for endowment, annual support and capital.
Speaker: Sue Taylor La Colla
Sue recently retired as Executive Director of the La Jolla YMCA, after serving the YMCA for over 35 years. She has worked all across the country for YMCAs, from Florida to Silicon Valley, to her last 5 years in San Diego. Sue has been through several Capital Campaigns, almost 35 Annual Campaigns and is an experienced leader in creating endowment funds for the YMCAs she served. Her most recent accomplishments include completing a $21 million capital project expanding and renovating the Dan McKinney Family YMCA and Shepherd YMCA Firehouse building in the La Jolla Village, as well as starting programming in the new Beach and Bay Family YMCA.
Participants will learn about the role of blended gifts in a successful campaign, the impact of a comprehensive campaign on the culture of philanthropy, and the evolving role of the board and other volunteers.
