Similar to the in-person events you're accustomed to, these monthly chapter meetings will provide you with the in-depth tools and strategies to help you navigate your role as a fundraising professional and nonprofit leader. Each month, we'll bring in new speakers and experts in the field to focus on specific areas of fundraising. Same great content, now virtual!
Presentation Topic:
The spread of COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted communities of color throughout San Diego County. Due to the unequal wealth distribution in the U.S. and racial injustice and inequity, many people of color (POC) are in need of extra support as the coronavirus crisis continues.
Funder support is needed more than ever to invest in movements and organizations that serve under resourced communities so that they can continue their important work, change course where needed, and ultimately recover. This moment calls for a new way forward for philanthropy and how we work together.
Join AFP San Diego and our panel of Community Leaders as we discuss and brainstorm how we, collectively, can lift communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19, inequity and racial injustice.
- Encourage support?
- Raise awareness?
- Partner & collaborate?
- Stay true to purpose while modifying services to empower communities?
