Young Professionals

This year the Association of Fundraising Professionals California Valley Chapter is excited to offer an avenue dedicated to Young Professionals!

AFP CA Valley is committed to engaging young professionals and youth exploring philanthropy to help build their fundraising careers. We recognize the importance of outreach to young professionals in order to assure that effective and ethical fundraising is learned and practiced well into the future.
In partnership with Fresno State’s Humanics Department, AFP CA Valley’s Young Professionals committee works to provide the following:

• Introduction to the fundraising field - As a young professional, joining AFP will be your first step in your fundraising career and our Young Professional Committee is dedicated to helping you navigate this journey.
• Mentoring - Opportunities to network and seek guidance from fundraising professionals in our local communities who can offer advice and help connect you to helpful resources.
• Monthly programs specific to fundraising - Monthly luncheon programs feature a professional or organization with a message centered around fundraising. Many of these programs are geared towards newer fundraising professionals and can be an important resource to get your questions answered and learn best practices.
• Mixers - Annual young professionals mixers encourage peer to peer networking and relationship building among fellow professionals new to fundraising.
