Donor Advised Funds have become all the rage in philanthropy, but DAFs also have attracted the ire of some powerful Congressmen, where a bipartisan duo of senior Senators filed a bill in 2021 that would, if enacted, make significant changes to DAFs. As a result, DAFs have become controversial. Many in public charities, and with great support, have declined assistance.
In this timely presentation, join Kirk Ross, JD, Senior Director of Planned Giving, The University of Toledo Foundation, and L. Paul Hood, Jr., JD, LL.M., CFRE, FCEP, a long-time author/speaker and consultant on estate, income and charitable tax planning for a deep dive into DAFs in order to get to the truth about DAFs. During the presentation, Kirk and Paul will discuss the following:
- A detailed introduction to DAFs, including the history of DAFs and how DAFs have evolved over time, their tax consequences under current law and under proposed pending legislation, their advantages and disadvantages, and how DAfs compare against other charitable techniques, etc.
- When DAFs should be considered, and when DAFs are best avoided.
- Bold predictions about what the future holds for DAFs at the federal level.
Don't miss this informative and thought-provoking presentation!
