JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Grant Writer FLSA: Non-Exempt
Department: Administration
Accountability: Executive Director
Summary:
As a member of the development team at Boyertown Area Multi-Service, the Grant Writer will
work closely with the Director of Development to significantly increase grant revenue for the
organization. The Grant Writer will craft compelling grant applications that portray the great
impact Boyertown Area Multi-Service is having in the community. Programs include Senior
Center, Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Case Management, Medical Transportation, Volunteer
Grocery Shopping, and many volunteer programs.
Work Schedule:
Part-Time: 30 hours per week
Monday to Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Research, prepare and submit grant applications relevant to the needs of the organization
2. Prepare grant reports (progress and final reports) as needed or required
3. Become well versed in Boyertown Area Multi-Service’s programs and services to fully
articulate a compelling grant narrative and application.
4. Research and incorporate internal and external (local and regional) statistics to explain need to
foundations and grant makers
5. Maintain accurate records of deadlines and grant maker requirements, as well as digital files of
all completed application packets and reports
6. Assist in the formation and revision of data collection tools to ensure data and evaluation
process supports grant applications appropriately
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the full cycle of grant writing with ability to provide
samples of successfully funded grant applications and reports. Food insecurity/food access
programming grant experience is a plus. Experience with United Way applications and reporting
requirements also a plus.
3. Excellent writing, research, and storytelling skills
4. Well versed in Word, Excel, and pulling reports from databases

Pay Rate: $35-$40 an hour
