September 2020 Program Meeting
Ethics in Fundraising; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2020
Location: Zoom (a link will be sent to all registrants a few days before)
Cost: Free for AFP members, $10 for non-members.
In the fundraising profession, ethics is everything when it comes to creating donor-centric, trust-based relationships. Just one ethics misstep can negatively impact an organization for years. When it comes to good vs. bad, it’s not always black and white. There is a lot of gray area, and that’s where we can run into trouble.
To help us navigate the murkiness of ethical behavior in fundraising, we’ve assembled a panel of experienced fundraising professionals who will discuss your burning ethics questions and dilemmas. We’ll also discuss a few more recent nonprofit scandals that have been in the media.
Joan Griswold, CFRE, Corporate Development Officer, Food Bank of Northern Nevada
Shari Netzel, Development Officer, UNR School of Medicine
Joy Orlich, semi-retired from a long career as a fundraising volunteer and professional
