Paul Yeghiayan has more than 15 years of experience building and directing fundraising initiatives across diverse nonprofits. He has served in leadership roles, such as VP of Development at the American University of Armenia and Foundation President at the National Association of City and County Health Officials. Paul is a senior consultant with Copley Raff, a full-service nonprofit management and fundraising consultancy.

The power of community efforts inspires Paul. When his best friend was diagnosed with leukemia in 1998, he collaborated with friends and the Red Cross in the Boston metro area to coordinate the most successful, as of that date, single-day blood drive. He continued volunteering locally and soon realized his passion and strengths lie in supporting nonprofit organizations to transform their fundraising strategies to serve their communities better.

Throughout his career, he’s helped organizations improve their fundraising outcomes to identify gift opportunities through in-depth research and analysis, including the use of data analytics tools and donor modeling. Paul can deeply connect with the passions of donors and link their interests with the needs of beneficiaries. He also has experience devising marketing strategies and campaigns and building teams, programs, and organizations from the ground up. Before his extensive fundraising experience, Paul had a mix of unusual roles as a bartender, logger, and horse trainer.

Select Accomplishments:
● Raised more than $28M in major and planned gifts and grants to support mission-driven nonprofit organizations over the past 15 years.
● Identified $23 million in high probability bequest gifts for the Capital Area Food Bank and developed an in-depth, month by month implementation strategy.
● Worked with CaroMont Health leadership to determine the most effective engagement channels and strategies, resulting in a $25 million campaign planning study.
● Transformed relationship with a wealthy but disgruntled donor who was contributing $5-10K each year, persuading them to make a $1.2 million donation in support of impoverished women and girls.
● Built relationship with a lapsed and withdrawn donor who had made a significant gift and cut relations with the university, resulting in a new $1 million donation in support of entrepreneurship and innovation.
