Bio

Richard Clark is the Vice President for External Relations and Chief Advancement Officer at Johnson University. He is the former Senior Minister of Central Christian Church, Carmel Indiana, where he served in various roles for twenty-seven years, having previously served churches in North Carolina for over ten years. He is a graduate of Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Elizabeth City, North Carolina and received an MA in Theology from Cincinnati Christian University. He is a PhD candidate at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in Indianapolis. He is also the founder/president of Aspiran Group, focused on providing executive coaching and resourcing.

He currently serves on the board of Welcome Home Haiti ( building homes and empowering families by providing employment and discipleship training) and is a trustee of Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He has served on the boards of Outreach, Inc. (a ministry to homeless adolescents on the near east side of Indianapolis), CampTown (a local nonprofit benefitting at-risk young people), The Moriah Project (a new monastic, intentional Christian community on Indianapolis’ near eastside), and Christian Missionary Fellowship (a worldwide organization providing holistic approaches to social and spiritual needs based in Indianapolis). He also has taught Youth Ministry as an adjunct professor for 10 years at MACU, Nonprofit Management and Fundraising at MACU and at Johnson, and has preached, taught and helped lead service projects in seven countries.

He and his wife, Joanne (Buff) have two children, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren. When not spending time with them, his favorite pastime will generally involve a beach and a book.
