AFP Greater AZ Giving USA Report 2024

When:  Jun 25, 2024 from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM (ARIZONA)

AFP Greater AZ Chapter Giving USA Report 2024 and Panel

The Giving USA Annual Report, researched and written by the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy, publishes a comprehensive report on the sources and uses of charitable giving in the United States. For over 60 years, fundraisers, nonprofit leaders, donors, volunteers, scholars, and others in the charitable sector have counted on Giving USA to provide the most comprehensive charitable giving data available. Presented by Richard Tollefson, President & Founder of The Phoenix Philanthropy Group, join us in analyzing key insights to aid nonprofit organizations in crafting effective fundraising strategies and activities.

After the report presentation, a distinguished panel of nonprofit and community leaders engaged in philanthropy and advocacy in our state will delve into current legislative and political actions scrutinizing and affecting nonprofits and higher education institutions. This workshop will address the significant impact these actions have on how nonprofits define and articulate their mission, values, and engagement in diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and social justice initiatives. The session will provide valuable insights into how nonprofit executives and board members can have challenging conversations and effectively advocate their positions to donors, elected officials, and the broader public during electoral periods and in a charged political climate. Our panelists will discuss strategies for navigating these challenges with stakeholders, equipping you with the knowledge and tools to effectively lead and influence in today’s world.
