The San Luis Obispo County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) invites you to attend National Philanthropy Day 2026. Join us to celebrate the collective work non-profits do for and within the San Luis Obispo County community.

Keynote Speaker

We are excited to announce that the keynote address for National Philanthropy Day 2026 will be delivered by Roger D. Ali, MBA, C.Dir., CFRE, Chair of the AFP Global Board of Directors.


With more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Roger is a respected fundraising executive, governance expert, and consultant. Throughout his career, he has led fundraising initiatives that have generated more than $200 million and has advised organizations across Canada and the United States on major gifts, campaign strategy, governance, and organizational development. Roger currently serves as Chair of AFP Global and is a passionate advocate for advancing ethical fundraising and strengthening the nonprofit sector worldwide.


We are honored to welcome Roger to San Luis Obispo County for this special celebration of philanthropy. His leadership, expertise, and commitment to advancing our profession will inspire attendees as we recognize the generosity and community impact that National Philanthropy Day celebrates.

Who is eligible to receive an award?

Any resident of San Luis Obispo county who has made a deep commitment to support, more than one, nonprofit organization in the county.  A person or entity that gives the most money in dollars is not necessarily the only one eligible to be recognized.  Commitment to the community in addition to monetary donations could also include volunteer service and dedication. Awards will not be given posthumously unless someone representing the donor is still actively making gifts and involved with NPO’s in the community.
