What a year it's been.
The pandemic has had a profound impact on the world, our industry and our lives. Like so many, we've faced tough moments and had to respond to new challenges. It's been heartening to see the innovative solutions and acts of kindness brought on by these difficult times. I'm especially encouraged and inspired by our donors and their focus on taking care and still making an impact on our organizations. Like the way we have had to pivot with our profession and our lives, we too as an organization are also facing some change. Our longtime member and President, Josh Hirsch and his family, are transferring to Jacksonville and I will assume the role as President of our AFP Chapter. We are grateful to Josh for his service and thank him for all he has done to grow our membership and our Board of Directors.
I am excited for the challenge and have been active on the Board since 2017. I have been fundraising in Palm Beach County for the better part of 20 years. I understand the need of a fulfilling membership and having the opportunity to network with fellow fundraisers in the community – especially at such a volatile time. Our chapter is growing and we have a full list of monthly activities and learning opportunities. We are coming together to share best practices, philanthropy trends, and welcome the art of “bouncing things off of one another.” I invite you to be a part of it and take an active role.
Planet Philanthropy is in full swing and happening June 6-8 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando. I know this will be a very worthy and welcomed opportunity to learn, network and receive some CFRE credits along the way.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your President of our chapter. Together we are making an impact on our community, the nation and our world.
